FDM-Druckservice is now expanding its portfolio: PETG V0 from Sakata 3D, our first flame-retardant filament.
What characterizes PETG V0
PETG V0 is based on a modified glycol polyethylene terephthalate and achieves fire class V-0 in accordance with UL 94. In the event of fire, the material extinguishes itself within ten seconds and does not form any burning droplets. Halogenated flame retardants, red phosphorus and PFAS are completely dispensed with, making PETG V0 a comparatively environmentally friendly option among flame-retardant plastics.
Printing properties
PETG V0 behaves like normal PETG during printing: low warpage, good layer adhesion and high dimensional stability. Anyone who has experience with PETG will find their way around immediately. The printing temperature and bed adhesion are within the usual range and are easy to handle.
Typical applications
Flame-retardant material is ideal for components in the vicinity of heat sources or electrical components:
- Enclosures for electronics and power supply units
- Brackets for LED strips and lighting
- Covers for electrical installations
- Prototypes for devices with fire protection requirements
- Components for mechanical engineering and automation
Available colors and ordering
PETG V0 is currently available in black. As with all materials, it can be selected directly during the ordering process or requested individually for special requests.
