10% discount for LARPers on all 3D prints*

Voucher code: larp10

Every LARPer knows it. As soon as one piece of equipment is finished, new ideas are already buzzing around in our heads. The company is constantly inspired by new technologies and methods of implementation. 3D printing has now also arrived at the LARP. There are numerous ready-made 3D models available for free on Thingiverse, for example. There are also a variety of free (e.g. FreeCAD) or paid programs for creating your own 3D models. Even Autodesk Inventor is free for students. But where is the best place to print the 3D models you have created if you don’t have a 3D printer in your circle of friends or the required material is too difficult to print? No problem! We at FDM-Druckstudio will be happy to help you and give you an additional 10% discount.

3D printing in the Dark Future LARP

The possibilities for 3D models are as diverse as the variations of LARP. In addition to helmets and armor parts, weapons and weapon parts can also be found on Thingiverse. If you’ve ever been involved with Dark Future LARP, you’ve probably had something to do with NERF Guns. There are also numerous mounting kits and attachments to print for these. Even the company Worker relies on 3D printing technology for its kits and prints most of its models from PLA. However, we recommend the more durable and resistant material ABS. It is also inexpensive, but is much more weather and impact resistant than PLA. However, it is more difficult to print due to the high temperatures required and cannot be printed with every 3D printer. We therefore recommend PETG for the 3D printer at home.

3D printing in medieval LARP

You might think that 3D printing has no place in medieval LARP. After all, 3D printers and plastic didn’t even exist back then. But that is not the case. There are also numerous situations in medieval LARP where 3D printed objects can be integrated very well into the game. For example, you could print your own seal or put your own currency into circulation.
3D prints don’t have to look like plastic either. There are also filaments that give a metallic sheen or filaments that look like wood. In addition, most materials are easy to paint. Thanks to this variety of different materials, there are no limits to the ideas.
