How the price calculator works

From model to binding price in five steps – no account, no quote request.

  1. Upload your file

    Drag STL, OBJ, 3MF, STEP, IGES or BREP into the field above. CAD formats are converted into a printable mesh on our server.

  2. Wait for the analysis

    The calculator measures volume, surface, build volume and the thinnest wall, detects multiple bodies and the support demand for FDM – and orients the part optimally itself.

  3. Compare prices

    A price card appears for FDM, SLA and SLS. Not sure? Tell the calculator what the part is for and the AI recommends a process and material.

  4. Choose material, colour and quantity

    “Select & configure” takes you into the calculator of the chosen process. There you set material, colour, infill, size, quantity and finishing – the price follows every change instantly.

  5. Order

    Add to cart, choose shipping, pay. The delivery date is already shown in the cart.

What the calculator checks

Wall thickness

The thinnest point of the model is measured and checked against the minimum for the process – 0.3 mm SLA, 0.8 mm SLS and FDM. Spots that are too thin are flagged rather than silently printed.

Build volume

Does the part fit into 200 × 125 × 210 mm (SLA), 159 × 159 × 295 mm (SLS) or 360 × 360 × 360 mm (FDM)? If not, it says so and suggests scaling down, rotating or printing in sections.

Orientation

The part is placed in the build volume automatically so that it fits and, for FDM, needs as little support material as possible. You do not have to rotate it yourself.

Support demand

For FDM it shows what share of the surface needs supports – which explains price differences between processes, since SLS never needs any.

Multiple bodies

If the file consists of several separate parts, each is assessed and priced individually.

CAD formats

STEP, IGES and BREP are converted on our server. You do not need to export anything from your CAD program.

What makes up the price

No flat rate, no estimate: the price is calculated from your actual model.

Material

For FDM and SLA the volume of the part in cubic centimetres, for SLS its weight in grams – multiplied by the price of the chosen material. A lower infill saves a lot on solid FDM parts.

Process

FDM is the most affordable; SLA and SLS sit above it because resin and powder cost more and finishing takes longer.

Quantity

10 % discount from 50 pieces, 15 % from 100, 20 % from 200 – automatically, no need to ask.

Finishing

Dyeing, sealing, UV protection or threaded inserts carry a surcharge that the calculator includes straight away.

Shipping

Germany and EU €4.99, free from an order value of €75. Express €11.00 (DE) or €14.50 (EU).

Set-up charges, minimum order value, surcharge for single pieces. One part costs what one part costs.

Frequently asked questions about the calculator

Is the calculated price binding?

Yes. What the calculator shows is the price you pay – plus shipping, which is added in the cart. There is no subsequent review and no quote to wait for.

Why is the same part more expensive in SLS than in FDM?

With FDM you pay for the volume at 20 % infill – the part is largely hollow inside. With SLS the weight of the solid part is calculated, and PA12 powder costs more per gram than filament. In return SLS needs no support structures and is strong in every direction.

What happens if my model is too large?

The calculator shows which process it is too large for. You can scale it down or rotate it in the calculator; parts beyond 360 mm we print in sections – write to us about it.

Do I need an account?

No. Uploading and pricing works without signing in. You only need an account to order – or to find saved models again later.

How long is my file stored?

Uploaded files are deleted automatically after 30 days. Ordered models are kept for reorders.

Can I upload several parts in one file?

Yes. If the file consists of several separate bodies, the calculator detects them and prices each part. Quantities and materials can be set per part in the calculator.
